What's the single best way to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and you contracting it?
Riding a motorcycle.
Is there a better way? I think not. No matter how hard you try otherwise, you're always at least six feet from others. Social distancing at its finest.
Worried about wearing a mask? A helmet with the visor down completely eliminates that concern. Who ya gonna breathe on? Who ya gonna touch?
No one, that's who.
Let's not forget about your gloved hands. Leather gloves make a fine barrier when touching a gas pump, (which is really inconsequential when you consider the mileage we get), getting change from a cashier, or even shaking hands.
Most experience raised endorphin levels when riding, which are thought to promote both mental and physical health and consequently a healthier immune system. You'll get more sunshine riding a bike than driving a car or sitting on a couch (one in the same to many of us). Sunshine is instrumental to the body's production of both endorphins and Vitamin D, with Vitamin D being crucial to a healthy immune system.
Now for a few things you may not have considered:
Riding a bike makes is a great way to avoid watching the news and (a sure-fire way to become depressed) its misleading BS. It is also likely you'll often be riding away from civilization, which is never a bad thing.
If this twisted Coronavirus phenomena caused everyone to start riding, bike sales would go through the roof. Dealerships would be healthier. You could get your bike worked on anywhere. The rising tide would carry all boats.
Imagine roads filled with Covid-free happy people, fraught with fewer distractions, learning to cope without cell-phones, looking out for careless drivers as opposed to being one of them
and not spreading a damned thing except a positive attitude.
Get out and ride people!
Well hell, sounds like I need to go on a ride!
(Love the graphic by the way!)
